Currently the real, inflation-adjusted, price of gold is almost as high as it was in January 1980 and August 2011. Since 1975, periods of high real gold prices have occurred during periods of elevated concern about high future price inflation. Five years after the real price peaks in January 1980 and August 2011 the nominal (real) prices of gold fell 55% (67%) and 28% (33%), respectively. Today’s high real price of gold suggests that gold is an expensive inflation-hedge with a low prospective real return. 一个美国看法： In finance, everything we do is driven by data and economic theory. Technology has changed the media as there is little fact checking while journalists are paid by how many article clicks are given. To some degree, the same is true for politicians. Is TikTok sharing user data with the Chinese government? If the Chinese government cares about dancing teenagers, I’d be surprised. WeChat is “national security threat”? Prove it. No one had ever heard of Huawei until it was deemed a threat. They make inexpensive cell phones. I was looking forward to the US court case on Huawei as it would require the US to provide evidence for all of us to see.[回复]

美国就是要羞辱中国，逼中国下场应战，这样中国现代化进程就打断了，资源要被用于对抗上了。就像汉初匈奴不断骚扰长城沿线，写信羞辱吕后一个道理。汉代初期君主是怎么应对的呢？和亲，大力强化长城防守力量，不断对南方用兵，消除后顾之忧。到武帝后国力积攒起来了，就开始了对匈奴的战略大反攻，用了十多年就灭了甘肃一带的匈奴，此后汉朝不断打击下，东汉初期彻底消灭匈奴。现在美国搞华为，TT,和匈奴骚扰边关差不多，伤不到我们筋骨，但会给边地军民造成损害和压力。古代国家的办法是对边地居民不收税，军户化，和对方缠斗，把他的外交资源消耗在这些事情上，掩护国内经济发展产业升级。
